Godzilla 3.5/5 for geeking out at the few good parts although if I weren't a big Godzilla fan it probably would've been a 2.5/5 or less.

Talk about frustrating everyone in the theater a couple of times by cutting away just when it was getting good. I've seen many Godzilla films where they showed tons more of the big guy than this so this small amount of screentime is not typical for whoever wants to use that argument.

Captain Phillips ~ 7/10

It had some great tension but the film still dragged at times. Excellent performance by Hanks and the rest of the cast

hey what can i say? i love Godzilla.. always have always will.

and lets get one thing straight here. i agree with the most part of what others are saying about the film and the human element and the actors and acting.
but Godzilla made up far all of that. i understand the actors and acting is important to some. but for me its all about big G. the parts that had G in it were killah. even the teases.
and that seems to be the one common denominator that everyone agrees on.

but i really enjoyed the teasing. and how they cutaway from the scenes. gave it a more sense of reality for me.

could it have been better? absolutely. the one thing that i thought that they should have done was show the reasons why they tried to kill Godzilla back in 1954. instead of just explaining them, or a combination of the two as they did but with mire depth. and show him doing what ever it was he did to warrant them to try and kill Godzilla with an atom bomb. such as g destroying a city or something. they still could have done all of that and kept G somewhat concealed until the final reveal.

but for me its all about Godzilla and for the most part they did an excellent job on him. ti was what i was hoping for. that he would be much better on film than what was teased for the from was released.

Really that good? I didn't think much to the first one but I'll certainly give this one a go once it releases on Blu ray.

Dredd: 10/10 - Watched this again (and again, and again) last night . . . just keeps getting better IMO. I absolutely love this movie. They have got to make a sequel and it has to be Urban.

It's funny you should say it keeps getting better and better with each viewing. I feel the same. Pretty sure I gave it a 9/10 the first time I saw it and a 9.5 the second. I'm due for another viewing soon and I won't be surprised if I give it a 10/10 same as you.
