I'm sure I remember the theatrical version of Return of the King being nearly 3 hours alone, and that received acclaim and a Best Picture oscar, so an Avengers movie could be 3 hours if it wanted to

I'm not even sure if it would need to be 3 hours anyway because all of the characters would have been already established in the various films preceeding it?
