I hope she realizes that she will have to record the retail value of it on her taxes. I'm sure the company running the contest will declare it as an expense.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Wonder if somebody'll snipe it at the last minute. $4,500? $5,000? More?!!

I'm floored at this one, and will watch in awe.

I seriously doubt she will declare this on her taxes. She is supposed so, but I'll bet anything that she won't.

Obviously this contest didn't mean anything to her because she's selling it. I don't think when she showed it off she was revealing her pride. I think she was just showing off.

It could have meant quite a bit to her, but perhaps the money is needed much more.
I'd have a hard time turning down a "free" $4,000 or more on something like that.
We really have no idea, but good for her, and good for the eventual winner.

Showed this auction to a co-worker friend of mine, and the first thing she said was: "$4000 for a golden dildo??? Damn, this thing must be good!!"

Thumbs down

Well looks like I fell for the bait from two jerks.
Another serious bidder gave me this information:

In case you were curious here's a link to the shill people bidding
and their own words of what they did while it was happening.

See halfway down here: TwoJerks for DarthXXX and Jedi_Rainman

I'm a member of these boards but detest what they did because they
essentially killed this auction.

Looks like those two fellows decided to have some fun and mess around
with the pricing by bidding against one another just for the "fun" of it.

Well, it didn't hit the reserve, but it also didn't find the true and actual
selling price either. Had it ended up legitimately at $1,000 or $1,500 or
so, it would have been possible to maybe work with the seller on it.

Unfortunate that those two jerks decided to play pricing games.
