The best thing is, this is the first World Cup where the player of the tournament is named after the final - most years, I think there's a chance Zidane would already have won the award. Last time around, they decided player of the tournament at half-time of the final. Imagine if they'd done that!

Who was named player of the tournament? I would have given it to the Italian captain Canavero.

Shocking! Zidane's still won it! What kind of message does that send?

Zidane won it. Jez. I know he played well in the game up and until he got sent off but he was non-existent in the group stages. Canavero has been outstanding in every game. I don't understand not giving it to defenders if they deserve it.

And whats a great pity, he will always be remembered for it in much the same way as the English remember Maradona for the Hand of God goal, but forget about his wondergoal in the same game.
Your always remembered for your last action.

That other guy dropped like a rock didn't he, think that was a little acting or what? I'm not a soccer fan, but I did watch the highlites. Having said that you would think a guy with his age and experience would know better, what a moron.

The Guardian today reports rumours that Materazzi called Zizi a "terrorist", but that's all unconfirmed.
