I don't understand why you wouldn't report it. You really think this guy is going to get so pissed that the cops gets called that's he's going to throw his life away by shooting your friend? That's pretty ridiculous

How good is the relationship with that neighbor currently? If it is okay filing the report should not be a big deal.

twinzs, there are a lot of sick and unstable people out there...who knows.

joefixit2,
My friend would take his trash bin in every week for him cause he comes home late. He said that he's cheap, wouldn't chip in to fix a share fence with him. The neighborhood is very nice - homes about 10 years old.

I heard that the neighbor is married with no kids.

Now, i'm wondering, did he kill someone in the house???? cause the bullet went through his own house and travel to my friend's house.

Oh, and the hole is still there and he didn't even offer to fix it.

I would still report it, cause what if there is damage to the house. What if the bullet hit a gas pipe, electrical wire etc...

Not like police are gonna say, suck it up or drive by and not do anything. Its not like a spat over who parked their car in front of whos house. This could lead to more serious stuff and might even do a investigation.

I would report it in a second and make him pay for the damages (since you said he hasn't offered). No dumbass neighbour of mine is going to wreck my house and risk my safety without paying for it.

My second job is a 911 dispatcher and the way around knowing it was him is report it anonymously. the only thing with that is he can not mention the bullet hole in his house or around it whatever it was cuase that will tip off the whole anonymous report part. He can report it and request just for the logs but not send a police officer but again this is the discretion of the police and they may go speak with him as it is a matter of public safety. I would say he can report it but say he does not want to put any charges or anything towards him and they can speak with him but if he does not have a permit they have to take the gun away.

If the cops come by his place, the neighbor will most likely assume it was your friend who reported him anyways. Unless, of course, he's been putting bullet holes in a lot of houses in the area.

The shot was most likely accidental. I would have reported it as soon as I found the bullet hole.

I think I would report it right away. I would be irate if I had a bullet in my house. And his nonchalant attitude would push my buttons pretty good.
