I would rather see a different base for Wonder Woman and see Tweeterhead use this base of Ares be made into a full size statue of the character to expand somewhat on Wonder Woman's rogue's gallery.

after thinking on this more, i am concerned about the base paintwork. i think it would be best if ares is stone. but the flames would contradict that and have a chance to come across as tackey. and on the other hand if ares isn't stone, that's a whole other issue. this whole thing hinges on the base paintwork for me now

I love the Wonder Woman part (quite a lot, in fact), but as others have said, the base is just distracting.
I don't think the base even works on its own terms. I have several pieces with 'vanquished foe' bases, but this one doesn't really make sense. Ares doesn't look defeated at all in terms of his posture and pose. Even if it's supposed to be a statue, still, it isn't toppled and crumbled in a way that symbolizes a satisfying annihilation. Plus, why is there randomly a rock platform or whatever on his shoulders for someone to stand on? It just doesn't make sense.
On top of all that, it seems like it adds way too much height (and probably expense) to what was already an upraised spear pose....

There's definitely a LOT going on. Very, very busy....and that's with no paint.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I thought this too. Based on his size, I feel like she could have been directly on his shoulders (although that helmet plume might get a bit more awkward...) Unless it's supposed to be that he's part of a relief with the platform being the roof of a building...? It doesn't make immediate sense though, like the underground aspect of Flash's base.
