Discussions about inflation started when minor little event called a global pandemic and shut down of economy caused massive disruptions in supply chains. To avoid catastrophe trillions of dollars were spent to prop up and avoid mass evictions and unemployment leading to a depression.
This was done across two administrations of different political affiliation. If ones understanding of economics on such a scale is an individual flipping a switch I'm not sure what discussion it generates.

I don't know how you can have a thread about the obvious inflation problems, without politics coming up? You might want to shut this one down before I start dropping data & facts that will make the uniformed cry. I'd make this thread disappear & keep things civil...

Weird that the price of polystone has increased so much. It's not the most popular of goods I think?

I'm guessing raw material costs are not close to being the majority cost input for the end-to-end production/delivery of statues. Labor and logistics are both probably bigger pieces of the cost breakdown. Happy to be proven wrong here with data. In inflationary times, producers also price for additional anticipated inflation. Hence, F4F pricing "Super Shadow" at +115% price of "Super Sonic" despite cumulative nominal inflation being only +16% from 2015 to 2021.

Personally, I'm glad this is happening. I have the compensation to fund this type of consumer addiction but I lose interest in the statues I buy after maybe 2 weeks (the hedonic treadmill works fast). It's like the effectiveness of talk therapy. There's no permanent impact on happiness. This will probably be a short-lived phase of my life (I went from 0 statues to 20+ 1/4 resins in 3 years) and good riddance .
