Eastern Promise and History of Violence were good movies. But I guess they are not for everyone.

Millers Crossing is a classic IMO.

History of Violence is a good movie. However Eastern Promise did very little for me.

I liked eastern promises more than history of violence (which I honestly didn't like).

but with both I didn't see the point of either movie.

Well Eastern Promise had an underlying story of human trafficking of Eastern European woman. The screen writer touches on this in the extras. I think it’s a very important story. These women are kept as sex slaves.
