I will say that this new base makes everything look like one big advertisement. Like something you would see being showcased/advertised at a Mavel comic-con booth or a red carpet movie debut.
The cool thing about the original Stark base was that it looked like a big name bearing structure that you would see outside on the way into his Stark Industries building, and it looked as if he was landing on top of it. Not sure what the nomenclature for a structure like that is called, but it looks something similar to this:
Very cool original concept base that would've really worked for this statue. I can't believe XM wasn't allowed to use it.
This new base, well, it's just covered in advertisements. I'm not too sure why I would need to be told what type of suit he's wearing designed and molded into a base. Oh well, it's great for die-hard Iron Man fans.

"What's that roman numeral he's standing on?"
"THAT, my friend, stands for Mark 7!" It's the type of armor he's wearing. It also lets you know who this is."
"Well it's obvious who this is...."
"True that. True that, but check this out. It also lets you know he's an Avenger when you do this....."
