I'm tempted. I think this would look great next to the Darkside Collectibles Captain Kirk

Mythbuster's Adam Savage just posted about it on his FB.
That should help

I am desperate to add one of these to my collection. The 32” size! The price (which is extremely reasonable for a model like this)! What’s not to love? Only 11 days left to sign up.

Goal lowered again to only 2000 units.
It's at 96% funded now so it's going to make it I'm sure.

That's a fairly radical downsize in terms of being able to economically justify production.
So much so that it makes me a little suspicious.
Even if they were just buying up Polar Lights kits and building and painting them (well), and adding the electronics- $600 would be a more than fair price (for the buyers, not the seller).
Adding die-cast + shipping and taxes into that...hard not to think there's gotta be a catch somewhere we're not seeing.
I've had the PL kit sitting here for a couple years now. I've been stymied on how best to do the bussards.
(I'm surprised Adam never bought the PL kit)

On second look, I went ahead and went in on one just now.

OK. I watched all their videos and it seems they have everything covered. There are actually spinning blades in the bussards in addition to the blinking lights, and supposedly they'll be silent.
I still think it seems a little hinky that they originally "needed" more than twice the number of sales that they do now to make this feasible- but the company seems to have the pedigree.
it looks like an insane bargain at this price- assuming all their promises (no screws or seam lines visible, etc) pan out. i mean, compare the price here to a 12" die cast HT Iron Man. it's nuts.
About the only thing I'm concerned about now is the intensity of the LEDs. Few things scream "cheap toy model" more than seeing lights that are a high (normal) brightness emanating from a vehicle that is hundreds of times reduced in size. It totally kills the illusion of scale.

Looks like we're getting this - so pumped! Assuming this is the usual Tomy quality, we're getting an absolute steal.

At that price I went in for two. In a few years you will be able to sell the second one and pay for the first, it will be free. I think a lot are missing the boat and when this hits it will be THE Enterprise to have short of a pro-build of the Polar Lights kit.

I hope this leads to other Enterprises being made.
