Best buy and Toys R us are offering similar things in stores...$25 gift card at toysrus and $20 for buying at bestbuy.
Just giving everyone a heads up who might not know.

You know what, you're right. I thought about waiting but I might as well pick it up and get the $20 amazon credit. Thanks for the push. Ordered.

I finished RDR finally last night.. took some time off from gaming.
Great ending... I could see why a huge amount of people would be upset about the ending, but as someone who loves Western movies, I found it appropriate. All of it. Natural ending for the storyline.

I'm now two chapters into Resident Evil 5.
I'm actually thinking about POSSIBLY getting the special edition of this at some point.. we'll see; meaning this copy would be Ebay or Gamestop fodder.
Playing through on the easiest setting first, as it counts towards Achievement points (lame, yes) and I want to make sure I know what I'm doing when I ramp up the difficulty since I'm not incredibly efficient with finishing most video games.
Great game so far, though.. it'd be fun to hook up with someone to do this on co-op, but as a single-player game, your ai-controlled partner is a good packmule.

If you plan on eventually upgrading all the weapons, the extra easy run won't hurt.

Nice.
How so? Ah.. because the weapons carry over?
When can you upgrade them? So far I don't think I've seen that option... I'm lovin' the weapon choices so far, though.

You'll be able to upgrade as you progress. And yes the weapons carry over. As do the outfits.
I recommend playing through the first time on moderate (or whatever they call it) and upgrading your favorite weapons. Chances are you won't be able to do them all by the time you complete the game. Then go through on easy and upgrade the remaining weapons and hunt down what medallions you missed for the achievement points. Then play through on hard with all the weapons at their full potential. You'll get the most out of the experience this way IMO.
