In looking over my comedy list... now I think I should have shoehorned "Dr. Strangelove" in there. Vintage Peter Sellers (along with the "Pink Panther" sequel, "A Shot in the Dark") and Stanley Kubrick drection.

Forrest Gump
To Kill A Mockingbird

Saving Private Ryan
Gone With The Wind
The Little Mermaid
Wizard of Oz
I’m very eclectic and don’t watch movies as much as I watch TV or read Terminator is my not-allowed-honorable mention.

Hoosiers almost made my list. Just rewatched it with my kids a couple weekends ago. Still holds up even after 34 (!) years.

I just picked this one up, can't wait to watch it. Speaking of Tarkovsky, I also recently got Solaris, i'm looking forward to that one as well, hopefully this weekend!

Solaris is great too.
I just saw Stalker for the first time this month. I didn't quite get it after the first viewing so I watched it again a week later and that's when it really resonated with me. I think that's how it is with every Tarkovsky film I've seen.

that seems to be the case with Tarkovsky movies, multiple viewings are needed, but IMO that is the sign of a truely great movie!
seems like Solaris was Tarkovsky's answer to the #1 movie on your list - Kubricks 2001, although this has been argued over the years
