Duh, "The Jacksons".

Although I am sure it was not called by that name....
Sorry. Got distracted by stuff. Ryche's got it. It was just called the Cher Show.

The Jackson Five used to appear on her show from time to time, and introduced their younger sisters to the world on her stage.

SWEET!

okay...

Welcome to Weemawee High School, where being in the right clique can make one's years in school memorable...

CBS cancelled this show after only one season in 1982....but it was enough to get the star noticed, although she almost did NOT get the role because
the producers thought she was too pretty. Luckily, she was wearing sunglasses that day and the directors took out the lenses, asked told her to put them on, and gave her the part.

What is 'Square Pegs', starring Sarah Jessica Parker, before 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' and 'Sex and the City.' It also starred Jamie Gertz (of Still Standing and Less Than Zero fame) as the prissy Muffy, president of the student body.

Still love watching that show when I catch it on TVLand, although it does make me wince a bit.

Okay. Here's a toughie, although I suspect not for you guys.

Fans of space opera tuned into this spin-off, only to find that the original show, while futuristic in presentation and its premise, was actually taking place in the recent past! This spin-off took place on Earth in the current year (even going so far as to have the year in the title), and featured only -one- of the actors from the original series, albeit in a cameo role, mostly.

Bonus: Name the actor who appeared in both shows, and the role they portrayed.

What is Galactica 1980, a spin-off of Battlestar Galactica, naturally--both starring Lorne Greene as Adama. (Though you may be thinking of Lt. Boomer, who also appeared in Galactica 1980...but I can't remember his real name...)
