Another flop. We just want the regular Silver Surfer.

Because they hate the source material and most importantly the people who love the source material.

This is what I read too. Which I didn?t know. So I?m fine with it.
I think her being Nova would have gone over MUCH BETTER, but I?m not going to shun this movie over this. The casting is too good. Pascal is the only one I am ho-hum about and he is an excellent actor

I'm finally throwning in the towel. All of the gender changing, race changing, et al in the comic book movies is just retconning that I have zero interest in. I want the characters the way they have been since they were created for the last 60 + years. Why not introduce Frankie Raye if you want an actual female herald of Galactus in your movie? Why do you have to take away the original Silver Surfer and make it so he doesn't exist? Oh, wait, he will exist, he'll be placed in Shalla Bal's role now instead, won't he. Norrin Radd is the Silver Surfer...there is no other. I don't care that Shalla Bal was given the power cosmic in a one shot comic...that is less than nothing to the history of the actual Silver Surfer...Norrin Radd....end of rant.

The Surfer is one of only 2 comics I ever actually collected. The other being TMNT. Sure I got lots of issues and story lines and events but those were the only 2 books I stuck with for my time with comics.
To have an actual chance to see one of my favorite characters given a serious theatrical treatment with a substantial professional budget taken away for diversity nonsense is beyond disappointing and insulting.
They announce this right after Disney's board of directors won their proxy vote which this very type of thing was at the forefront of.

This article about the poster suggests hints that the movie?s not set in the main MCU.
