Aha. I read ya. Well, my plan is to keep stacking weight on top over a period of time yet undetermined until it gives. We'll eventually find out how much it takes and where it breaks. Fortunately, I don't need as many Detolf shelves as I used to, so sacrificing one for the greater good is no big whoop.

I agree with this one. Unless that the statue is "jumping up and down" all the time, there is no way a solitary and stationary piece of polystone would ever cause a glass to break. It's already properly stationed there, just like the weights on that pic.
