Apparently in the name of security, customs in India are also known to open packages and steal items frequently and then the item would never be delivered. Sometimes I feel they just damage the item out of spite as it was not an item to their liking or not worthy enough for them to steal.

Hence forth I will only ship to my NY and UK shipping addresses and let courier service deliver it to my house instead of Indian postal service, but still can't avoid Indian customs.

Man that's rough. Like they played baseball with the tube. It's like Pet Detective level package damage. That sort of thing should get someone fired or be enough for them to look at their shipping/delivery methods. Or an insurance claim will fix things.

Yeah and it's like they don't even realize why the item was sent in a tube in the first place, to avoid items being folded. Yep insurance claim might make them more vigilant, but this like most regular poster packages was sent under regular international shipping without insurance.

I have now already sent emails along with the link to my article to different officers of the Indian postal and customs departments. I have no hopes, but I will wait and see if someone responds to take action.

That is bad service. It would take some effort to destroy a tube like that. Hopefully you get it sorted in time for future orders.
