They have been know to improve or worsen later batches, yeah. They fixed a shading issue with the Magneto Maquette classic portrait a few years back. It's totally luck imo as you never really know which batch you're getting if you buy much later.

Totally understand you being on the fence. Personally I wish I had returned her when I was within window... But then when I turn on the display lights I do actually enjoy looking at her. It's a very love/hate relationship with this piece because of the shading.

Love the sculpt, but the shading kinda ruins it...

Pretty sure this is sold through, but you never know with the batch ordering/shipping if it is truly gone. They dont change the paint apps either way, just depends on if you get a bad one or a worse one.

I can completely see that. And I am not one that has a whole lot of empty space (every collector) and I am so damn picky. (Literally I have 4 PF) that I don?t want to waste space so I came to the masses for inspiration and advice. lol

Alright guys... How dark am I going with the shading...?

I'm about to touch up the lines of the blue leg wrap and then do the shading of the skin, then seal. It was honestly straight black/grey before and decided to do a repaint from base coat up. Thinking about just matching the skin tone to the left as it's not as dark as the first one was, but it is still pretty dark unfortunately...

Concern is if brightening all of them, they won't match the shading on the portrait and I don't want to touch that...

I think this is one of my favorite comic portraits from Sideshow, it looks very lifelike…even next to the recent Storm. I think it looks great without the building on the base too.

I agree, the lifelike portrayal of the comic portrait is truly impressive, and the option to display it without the building on the base adds to its versatility.
