Dirty Work (1998) - 8/10

The story and acting were like something from a student film, but I laughed my ass off.

I gave it a 9/10 but its still soaking in to be honest. I almost waited to rate it as I might go higher. One of the most original films I've ever seen. Loved it.

Agreed...and the more I think about it..the more I find something else to love. Nice to see this in and Age where people think Re-makes are the way to go (movie studios mostly)...this is clearly an Example why being creative is the way it should be done.

The description of Inception sounds a bit like Dreamscape. I'm guessing it's done better, considering that movie has aged quite a bit.

Dreamscape is probably the best comparison though most will probably compare it to The Matrix or even Dark City, which IMO was The Matrix before the Matrix but thats another topic altogether. One other film it reminded me of strangely enough was The Sting. That said, in it's entirety its really like nothing else before it. A brilliant film. Very cerebral. It is seriously a lot to take in. I need to see it again.

With a critique like that, I may have to give it a whirl.
