It's basically a proof of concept test to make sure my plan works...body parts in resin and stuff that's too big in PLA. The resin printer is doing great...FDM printing with PLA filament is more of a learning curve in terms of setting up the supports so they remove easy with minimal surface scarring.

This is reassuring: no discrepancies between resin and PLA printing in terms of scale...the boot fits perfectly in it's spot on that part of the base.

The base on this is six pieces...three big ones and three little ones. This is the smallest of the big pieces...a 16 hour print in normal quality.

Here's the two printers at work... FDM printer using PLA filament building a section of the base:

SLA printer using UV resin working on the hips/left leg part:

Very cool. Cannot wait to see Batman done, once he gets the Karnis Touch (TM)!

Here are the raw parts off the resin printer. They need to be properly fitted, cleaned up, polished and ready for primer. Nice thing about resin printing is it's way faster than FDM. The second part of the base will finish tonight, the third big part will take a couple of days, as will the cape.
He's a big boy too...about the same height as the Super Powers Tweeterhead Batman but much beefier. The base is huge so I think he'll stand ~16" when finished.

I'm more and more wondering whether I should buy a resin printer after all

One small step for Spidey...one giant leap for me-kind
Left boot 90% done, just two columns to finish...I couldn't take it anymore. The line work is brutal. I wanted to make the webbing effect look like the artwork, kinda slight, not deep harsh black lines. But it takes forever...I'm thinking 2027 at this rate. LOL
