Oooo, sounds like someone thought they had US distribution and evidently did not.

The only way for them to do that is if IS didn't have the rights to sell in the US in the first place. Sideshow can't just void another companies license agreement.

If some of these companies would just do the damn due diligence they'd be fine.

Iron Studios has to shoulder a huge part of the blame here. How do you green light the production of a 1/4 scale Star Wars statue, with intentions to release it in North America, and not know whether or not you have permission to do so? Especially since this is not their first time encountering such hurdles.

That said, I hate that a company (Sideshow in this case) can have an exclusive deal for a particular type of product. It allows companies to provide minimal effort while still charging a premium. There is no reason their Mando couldn't have been the statue every fan would want. They clearly have the talent. Yet their 1/4 Star Wars line has been consistently sub par for years.

I agree with your stance here BUT if Sideshow paid for the license, they get to set the terms. Sad but true.

It being true doesn't make it right. This sort of thing being allowed is not in the best interest of the consumer. It's the same sort of thing that allows EA to copy and paste their code for their sports video games. FIFA 2021 is an exact copy of 2020. They have the exclusive FIFA license and the sheep keep paying for the game year after year. Without competition there is simply no incentive for EA to behave otherwise. The same can be said for Sideshow.

Spec is able to sell XM products which dont have a global licence through third party sources, i had kind of assumed they were doing the same here. I dont think BBTS can do the same
