Looks like SS have competition. I believe these are 1/12th scale so quite small.

I used to have some of the Sideshow Weta LoTR busts (sold them off) but I didnt know Weta had their own line going.

If they are small (and therefore not too expensive) there could be some tempting things coming then.

Yep. If they are cheap which you would expect with a 1/12th scale line (although don't say that to DC) I might buy a few select characters for the missus.

Based on Con reports, this is actually larger then 1/12th scale. Overall, around the same size as the DVD included one.
So it seems the scale can vary a bit, just got to be smaller then 1/6th.


As for when Weta Collectibles started, they started with the original LOTR statues, so around 10 years ago. It's just that those were all sold via Sideshow at the time.
