Just a few...

Have tons of anime figures in boxes and most of them will be sold. No room.

Is it wrong to feel dirty looking at some of these PVC anime statues? Anyhoot, I don't own any but I just pre-ordered my 1st anime statue the other day. Don't know the character but it looks really, really good IMO. 1st resin bust from Koto.

I might be interested in that piece also. I'll need to find some better pics of it though. The one on the Diamond site is pretty dinky.

That is a beautiful piece for sure but it never shown up on my dealer's website so I'll have to try my luck at the trip to Japan this year.

I'm a bit concern about the final product thought...Japanese usually have hard time capturing proper skin color on resin statues and the the overall quality is usualy unsatisfying.

It's a good chance to let you all know a little more about Japanese PVC and resin statues, so here we go.

A few common problems among Japanese resin statues are the cleanliness of the casts, the paint job on final products and overall QC.

The cleanliness of the casts has always been an issue. Quite a few of my anime resin statues have uneven bumps on thr surface, left over resin between hairs and fingers ect...And they're produced by renowned companies in Japan...

Paint job is another HUGE issue due to the large amount of production quantity.
It's about lacking the depth of color, definition and overall effect.

The Hair on resin statues are usually angled and lack of definition. And sometime you can even see webbings between hair and fingers...
The clean up job is usually very poorly done around the hair and finger area.

You can see from the pics GentleMidget provided, the first pic is a resin statue of the Ikki Tousen girl.
Observe the skin color carefully and then compare that with the Air Gear girl and the Mahoro on the bike statue.
The skin color on the Ikki Tousen girl appears to be pale, lack of depth and unnatural. Oppositely, the skin tone on Mahoro and Air Gear girl is very natural and life-like.

Also look at the hair, there're quite a few flaws on the Ikki Tousen statue as I mentioned, left over resin between hair lines and they didn't even cover up the seam. The hands/fingers region is bumpy and poorly done as well.

It's a fact that resin statues are dying out in Japan.
Not only PVC statues are durable, easier to clean, but they usually deliver much better effects than resin.
So rather complaining about PVC I personally feel it's a more appropriate matrial for anime statues.
Especially the delicacy of skin is beyond any America female collectibles.
