I'm making a female figure and I have the face done in super sculpey and already baked. I want to sculpt the front part of her long hair right on top of the face with another polymer clay but I want them to be separate pieces once baked because it would be easier to sand and paint that way. However, if I bake the hair sculpt that is directly connected to the face, I believe it will fuse together, and I don't want that. Peeling the hair off before baking will distort it as the hair is pretty thin in some areas. Is there anything I can do? Or is there a better way to go about this?
Here's an example if I was unclear. The hair isn't exactly like this, but it's close enough.
