My apologies I've caused a lot of a confusion with my terrible explanation and photos. Since I'm going to have to ask for a replacement I've gone back and taken photos with a better camera. Also just to clarify this is the upper tube in the mouth area that is permanently affixed to the head, NOT the lower tubes which you have to insert, they are not inserted in these photos.
First off this is the left side of the head. It looks just fine. The tube goes into a natural receptacle area and the tendon is flush against it.
Now the right side. The tendon not only isn't flush it isn't touching anything, just sticking out the side of the mouth.
At first glance you might think that's a little strange for it to do that since there should be more to it around the area where the tube goes into the head receptacle but there isn't because it looks like it was filed completely flat, and while doing so the paint from the tube was also rubbed off.
Here's a comparison of the left side (flipped) and the right side against each other.
