Closer shot of the regular portrait.

Really happy with the progress.

Anyone who owns any WETA statues before here? How are the factory paint for the final production piece usually holds up as compared to the prototype? Is it good? Bad? Anyone has experiences?

I thought the paint on their last Lara Croft was excellent.

I have every piece they've ever done of Dark Crystal. Also have the Anniversary Lara Croft on PO, I would have pursued the entire JL line too but I ran out of money.

So far every Weta statue I have I really love. No complaints yet.

Was the paint app on the face sculpt on the production piece comparable to the prototype? Reason I'm asking is just I am a little worried about their factory production piece especially on headsculpts.. Like, if it's 90% accuracy then that would be good to hear. Let me know

The portrait was maybe 80% to proto, but I don't know if that was a paint or sculpt issue. What impressed me was the level of detail in the paint application. The plants on the base weren't simply green, for example, they had dirt on them, as plants close to the ground often do. I was never disappointed with the paint on that piece.

Thanks for the info! I decided to pull the trigger. Losing sleep thinking about this Superman for the past few days. Haha.. and I am glad I finally made the decision. So looking forward to Q1 2021. This Weta Superman + QS Wonder Woman 1/4 arriving within the same time frame!! <3 2021 will be the DC year in collecting for me.

And also, I PO'd Queen Studios Darkseid to go along with this Weta Superman

It's an awesome DC day for me!!! Woohoo!!

Cool Easter egg about these 2 statues:
Supes' base has Steppenwolf's broken horn and Darkseid's base has Steppenwolf's head. I think they will both display well together.

That's a really good display idea. Weta's Darkseid looks intense but this new one from Queen Studios looks more organic if you pair it with the Weta Superman.

Stephenwolf just met his end and now you have the strongest champions from Earth and Apokolips staring each other down.

Damn man, now you got me thinking if I should do the same. (If Weta as going to make a regular Batfleck I was going to pair it with Superman to make a World's Finest but these two look amazing together) Tempted!
