Unless I see better pics in the near future, I am passing on this. Man, Cavill must be the most difficult actor likeness in Hollywood to get right in statue form. I still haven't seen a good one yet (and yes, that includes the life size Infinity piece). Queen Studios or JND, help please.

Also, seeing this is REALLY making me question whether ordering the Knightmare Batman is worth it.

No it's not due to angle, its a combination of the length of the camera lense, and the distance from the 3D object.
It boggles my mind that collectors still don't understand this simple concept. Every single statue with a wide face gets a crappy first picture and we have to go through this every time.

For ----s and giggles I tried it with my phone. If anything, the 5 ft distance on the left looks a tiny bit more narrow, but that's likely due to not perfectly matching angle (I didn't use a tripod). I must have a magic phone.

Weta's never been really good with human head sculpts so I'm not surprised with the result here. Just look at all their LOTR pieces since the start. They are consistent.

Overall, this statue is ok. These updated pictures definitely help. Its not terrible but its not great. The prototype had me pumped but this? Right now I'm not sure
The Heat Vision Sculpt is flat out terrible. It reminds me of Herman Munster. I'd never use it anyway so I'm not too bothered. For this production piece, the overall sculpt is ok. The paint job is the biggest let down
The base looks great. However, the colors on the suit for the prototype were vibrant but this falls flat (Especially the silvers). My biggest gripe is the regular portrait. (For a Cavill Superman, its the most important part) The Skin Colors/Textures could really be improved. Also, the prototype had a determined look. This production has a blank stare.
This is a new line that many fans have been eagerly awaiting to see the results. QC should step it up if this is going to be the first impression.

Joking aside, I'm still waiting for some *slightly* higher quality pics/vids before freaking out or passing judgement.

Heh, I have the tomb raider on preorder, and for $1,500 it better be perfect unlike this!

Cool stuff!
I'm ready for some more Weta announcements this year, hopefully soon they will have more news to drop on us.

Nice! Same here. Honestly I was too late in the game to realize the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Lara existed before it was very sold out. I said "that's ok" but the more I saw pictures (both prototype and in-hand) I really fell in love with that one. So essentially when I heard they were making another Lara statue I started saving money for it. A lot more expensive than I anticipated but for sure I hope it is a home run.

It's weird for me, people thinking this is poor. I'm normally very picky with things. Other than the face paint only being 90% there, it's within my expectations.
