Four thousand years ago the Woolly Mammoth or Mammuthus Primigenius roamed much of the Northern Hemisphere. The elephant ancestor was an important resource for early humans standing over 10 feet (3m) tall and weighing over 6 tons.
This Wonder of the Wild statue, a collaboration between Star Ace and X-Plus, once again depicts a woolly mammoth in the wild, this time in a warmer environment. The deluxe version of the statue features a baby mammoth standing alongside the adult mammoth.
These polyresin statues feature prehistoric creatures on an environment base with a nameplate identifying their scientific name and habitat. The statue has been sculpted by Sean Cooper, who is known for his ultra-realistic depictions of extinct animals and has been painted by the Japanese artisans at X-Plus.
