Photoshop? Extended or Upgrade?

I'm looking into purchasing a photoshop program and am confused, What's the difference between Extended and upgrade? I see that they are into the CS series, and will be up to CS5 this year. If you use Photoshop which do you suggest? and what are all the differences?

CS5 is actually out now. If you're not working with video/3d effects (and most people aren't), get the regular edition and not extended.

Cross country skiing is great if you live in a small country.

I'm really looking forward to some of the features of CS5 for photography.

I have an old Photoshop 7.0 version. Is that decent enough?

was looking at picking up the CS4 Student Edition, do you know if the student version is any less than the regular version?

It's cheaper but it's otherwise the same version as the retail release.
