To be expected, based on the first teaser...but the opposite of what I wanted. Regardless, will be interesting to see all that detail painted up.

For me, Apocalypse as a character gets a lot of leeway on suit design/detail simply based on how tech oriented he is. The face though, that will be the make it or break it thing for me.

Looks similar to Thanos a little, will have to see how it looks painted. The panty line area I'm not sure looks so good. I'll definitely consider it tho, but honestly haven't been overly thrilled by most XM x-men pieces. But I do have a few so its either this or waiting for sideshows next version.

In-universe, you're right. Makes total sense. For some reason though, I seem to only like the plainest of takes on Apoc, namely the Bowen museum (love that paint too).
But yeah, the detailed, tech-heavy approach is more in line with the character, so I could come around to it. Like you say, the portrait is also a point of contention too. I like a specific look, but I couldn't describe it. Just "I know it when I see it".
Two other things I don't like that may be sacrilegious to some - cod piece, and yes, the belt "A". So lame.

I'm betting this will be impressive once it's revealed. It's just not fitting into my ideal Apocalypse look.

Since they are both prominently featured on the Bowen piece, I assume neither is a deal breaker for you

Looks a little shorter and bulkier than I remember.
