awesome, thanks! My 12 year old daughter wants to see so was considering it. You can only see so many animated movies before you want to have them see a good summer film. Yes, I know there are some good animated movies but definitely not all of them.

non-stop: 6 / 10. decent movie. worth a rent. love liam neeson but it seems like he has been playing the same guy for the last 5 movies!
robocop (new one): 7 / 10. 1st half a bit snoozy with a very strong second half. a bit batmany for me which is not necessarily a bad thing.

All the Terminator movies are nuclear warfare post-apocalyptic films.
Entertainment Weekly recently did a funny flow chart breaking down these kinds of movies:

The nuclear war happened because of Skynet though, so technically it's because of an A.I./robot system than just straight up nuclear warfare.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 9/10
An intelligent and emotional Summer blockbuster that finds that perfect balance between action spectacle and a riveting/immersive narrative. Easily one of the best films of the year for me and the most impressive use of motion capture to date.

Technically, technically, wasn't it actually a virus in Terminator. If you remember in Terminator 3, they switch on Skynet to counter act a virus (which is actually Skynet), which leads to nuclear destruction.
So maybe not a traditional (biological) virus, but a virus none the less

Riddick - 8/10
As a fan of both 'Pitch Black' and the unfairly maligned 'The Chronicles of Riddick' I'm embarrassed to say I've finally got around to watching the third installment 'Riddick' today on BD. I expected to enjoy the film but based on the trailers it looked a bit too much like Pitch Black to me so I was pretty pleased to find out it was a nice mix of both films but ultimately stood strong on it's own while respecting it's place in the trilogy with solid references to it's predecessors. Actually Riddick just might be my favorite in the trilogy. I'd love to see the franchise continue, hopefully we don't have to wait another decade between films though.
