That premise sounds interesting, BT.
Oh man, is it ever. I read it again tonight! If you love sci-fi in the style of Jack Vance or Roger Zelazny, check it out.

Sequentially, this is considered issues 21 - 26 of Prophet, but it's actually 1 - 6 of an all-new series. Written by Brandom Graham, with art by Graham, Simon Roy, Farel Dalrymple, and Giannis Milogiannis, the story features Prophet waking up on an Earth so far in the future that it's unrecognizable - the environment and lifeforms have changed and/or been replaced with something completely alien - and Prophet must undertake a quest to "restart the Earth Empire". It reads and looks like something I'd expect to see in Metal Hurlant. It's completely bizarre, and quite stunning. Plus, the collection retails for only $9.99, so this was a gamble that more than paid off. I certainly plan on getting future volumes.

I've noticed that Image has some similarly inexpensive trades on the way (Glory, Saga), so I'm willing to check those out as well.
Prophet 1st series from 1993 had a 10 issue run.
#0-10

Prophet 2nd series from 1995 had 8 issue run.
#1-8

That only adds up to 19 issues.

What issue am my forgetting?
Is it the annual from the 2nd series?

I did not know a new series was made. It definetky has very european style to it, kinda like Metal Hurlant as mentioned.

Still I'm not sure this style is realy to my liking.
I like the cover for #28 though.

Even though Lifield is a total douchebad to his fans, from what I have been told. I still like his creations even with his flaws when it comes to the lack of talent in his drawings.

I would buy a Prophet tpb that collects the first two series.

Alot of the 90's stuff don't get the tpb or HC treatment though. Gen 13, Wet Works, Cyber Force, WildCATS, Death Blow, wich is a real shame.

Is this the story from the Marvel Premiere Classic HC titled Avengers The Private War Of Doom?

Edit.
No it's not, it's a completely different HC.

Have you read Alan Moore's work on Supreme and Judgment Day? Pretty cool stuff.

I'm not sure as to what makes up those 20 issues. I tried to piece it together from www.comics.org and couldn't make it work.

Checker Publishing collected them in trades a couple of years back.

Well if you want to be a completist, you can add all of these:

Vol 1 1-10
Vol 2 1-8 & Annual
Vol 3 1

Prophet & Chapel 1-2

Prophet & Cable 1-2

Avengelyne/Prophet 1-2

Prophet: Babewatch Special 1

But I took that numbering as them saying that this book is sooo far removed from the original Prophet and also it takes places in the future.

Nope. I was planning on buying the TPBs but never did.

Those are the ones I was planning on buying. If they can still be bought for retail I will get them at some point, but I have many gaps in my TPBs and HC that need to be filled before I start on Supreme.

Prophet #1 from year 2000 is the ones I did not have on my list.
