Is this their entry into NFTs?

I must be old because the whole concept of digital collectibles escapes me. I just don’t get the appeal of virtual.

I agree, I see no appeal in it at all. If I was satisfied with the proto pictures the studios put out and just saved them as files in a "collectables" folder I would have saved a lot of money. LOL

I just recently purchased my first NFT since the physical figure was going to be released to NFT holders (first/only). And while its cool I agree its not necessary and was a pain to do. Ill most likely be sticking to irl statues and figures from now on.

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Nothing about you being old...I think digital things like collectibles and whatnot would make sense if we lived in a virtual world...that day might be here at some point, but it's not today. NFTs themselves, as I see it, are really nothing more than virtual lottery tickets. It's a hype train for investment purposes.

What kind of figure? I know funko does something like this, but curious about others.

I'm pretty confident that this is the only valid structure so far. I have some confidence in NFT's on the established blockchains, but Funko for instance, uses a blockchain that very well could just not be around in years to come. Which is kinda a bummer because I think people are starting to collect these things with the idea that they'll be around for awhile like cards or comics or toys.

I don't get this at all. People are buying pictures of toys? What is this fascination with buying things that don't have a physical presence? Why is there even a market for this?
