I just ordered one of these from Spec Fiction as my waitlist number came up. I'm really excited to get it, and think it os a great looking rendition of the Thing. Like their Thanos, it seems like they have tweaked the comic book version to add a little more realism. I am okay with this.

I have always been a Hulk guy, and as such Thing was always a character I enjoyed. Looking forward to pairing this statue with my upcoming PF Classic Hulk.

Finished off my payments for this guy last night, hoping it ships today and I will see it next week some time. Doesn't seem to be much action on this thread but I will throw up some pics when it arrives. This will be only my third statue, joining the Sideshow Silver Surfer Maquette and the XM Thanos. I look forward to pairing The Thing with my upcoming sideshow PF Hulk one day.

This Thing & the Sideshow Hulk will look great together, maybe get the new sideshow Spiderman to put right in the middle of them!

Agreed!!! I am considering having Thanos facing off against my own version of the avengers. I'm casually looking for the sideshow PF versions of wolverine and captain America to finish that off.

If you are talking about the spider man with the sinister six, I really do like that statue.

A lot of good options, but I do think XM did a great job with Thing!

Congrats.

I thought the original paint concept was really cool, with the redish cooled-lava lines between all his 'rock plates'.
I did not hear when and why XM decided to reduce or get rid of the red lines? In the art print the red is reduced to light redish-brown. On statue even darker?

Anyhow, I think XM made a perfect The Thing statue.

This full sideview makes it look, He is chewing on a pebble rock
