The Dalek is quite cool. Not so sure about the Cyber Controller though.

Hm... I'm kinda disappointed overall. When I read that the pieces would be depicting scenes from the series, I was expecting something more akin to dioramas with the Doctor, etc. Like maybe a diorama with Rose and the Ninth Doctor facing the squishy Dalek instead of just the Dalek. I was all set to buy this whole line, but I'm probably going to be passing now. Still on the fence, though.

The Weta website does say these are two of the four statues so maybe a Doctor is still to be unveiled.

A new piece has been unveiled. The Roger Delgado incarnation of the Master, with an Auton. Interesting.

I'd agree that it's not bad, but not great either. I also think that the pose looks a bit awkward.

Actually he's trying to stop him from pressing the big red button of death (well the silver switch of death anyway)...

I've seen every episode of Doctor Who (that still exists), grew up on the stuff, so I'm target market for this stuff. So far from what I've seen, I'm kinda split though.

Not really interested in the Dalek, and Cyber-Controller doesn't much do it for me either. I actually think the Delgado Master likeness is pretty good, but the pose is quite awkward, which lets it down. The Baker vs Davros represents a classic Who moment though, so I'll be very tempted by that one.

Though, honestly, I would rather see each Doctor in a more vanilla pose. I'd love to have a display of all 10 official Doctors standing side by side. Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee, Tom Baker, Davison, Colin Baker, McCoy, McGann, Eccleston and Tenant, as well as the key other incarnations like Peter Cushing (from the movies), Richard Hurndall (who replaced Hartnell in the 5 Doctors) and maybe even an animated style Richard E Grant. Plus key villians as well. Then they could get started on the companions.

There's so much rich material to mine with Doctor Who, that if anyone ever manages to really capture the market then they could literally run and run.

I'm looking forward to see what else Weta comes up with.
