I REALLY wish I knew what the problem is. I'd much rather have Prime 1 say something like "well we screwed up the timetable for this with our other orders so badly that we won't be able to get back to it until
<insert honest date here>". Why they think leaving their paying customers in the dark for such an extreme amount of time is better defies my understanding. Repeatedly pushing the dates, especially after such a long time, simply erodes whatever trust and reliability Prime 1 still has. I'd wager that most, if not all, collectors have zero faith in Prime 1 hitting an estimated release window, even by 6 months. I'd say most other companies can hit their windows within 6 months, even PCS nowadays, which used to be the worst offender in my book.
