Gerry Taloc drew horror almost exclusively for DC's horror line. I have a lot of back issues of that book & his covers & interiors never disappoint. F.U.N. stuff.

this is one of the 1st horror comics I recall buying. still have it. great tale.

DC wasn't the only horror comics group churning out gorgeous covers. Over at Gold Key, George Wilson was producing some very nice painted ones. -

It all wasn't horror.

Over at House of Mystery, Sergio Aragones drew a monthly page devoted to the horror-chuckle. Cain's Game Room was a great spoof page.

Sergio also drew a lot for Plop, Mad & Groo.

Charleton Comics had their own horror line. The covers were almost always better than the stories.

Here's a really good one. Anyone remember the 1970's tv movie, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark? I've always thought this cover "borrowed" from it.

Probably, the artist who left the biggest impression on my during the 70's, has to be Joe Kubert. I loved his Tarzan & really enjoyed his Our Army at War with Sgt. Rock. However, it was Joe's Weird War covers that would hook me at the 7-11.

Luis Dominguez - Drew a lot for the DC horror line. Nice work although a little more intense then other artists.
