Because not everyone has that and new people into the hobby would want one and not have to fork out over $1000 for that Galactus.

I mean, this is surely going to be around 1k but yeah, most people would rather spend that on a brand new piece than a second-hand 8 year old piece.

It will definitely be more than 1K with the new Sideshow pricing every year. I would say at least 1999.99 for this one. Even Thanos was 1300.00-1400.00 years ago. This will be bigger.

I've always felt fortunate to have this - and to have not listened to the Cassandra's harping about the worthlessness of an open ES.

As cool as it is, one beef I've always had is that they gave him a lean, idealized superhero physique.
He looks stubby in the pic above, but that's just the angle and lens distortion.

I'm not going to bother replacing this one. It's still a fun piece, with a majestic sense of presence befitting the subject. But if the new one has a stockier, classical Kirby-esque quality to his proportions, I'm am going to be seriously envious.

Curious to see if the new one has been conceived purposefully to match the new Surfer- i.e possibly truncating his body by having him also emerging from a wormhole/vortex, to cut down on space and cost?

Pretty sure they're basing this new one on the second Fantastic Four movie.

Maybe the EX will be a portal with the other half of the Surfer's board. This will definitely be on my radar. However, if I do pick it up, I'll be displaying it with my Bowen pieces. It'll scale better with them and it's not like sideshow will be completing a 1/4 FF lineup anytime soon.

Pdenham, I did fall for that open ES argument and I was never a huge fan of the character, it as my collection had grown he’s become a big regret for passing. This one definitely has my interest. Every time I think I’m in the homestretch to winding things down something like this pops up!
