Here are two croped versions like you suggested. I prefer the elongated one myself.

I was thinking more like this.

When I cropped the image I kept the proportions the same.

There is no wright or wrong, merely interpretation. Just keep shooting, it's the best way to learn. Once you get bored with the cyber shot pick up a DSLR. And always remember to have fun

....also, with dramatic lighting like this, try experimenting with reflectors to cast just a little light in the dark areas to bring out some detail. Reflectors can me made from just about anything. Comic book boards work well, tin foil, etc., etc.

DSLR???

tell me more. I do like your crop. I see what you're going for. I do have a reflector at work. I was at home recovering, which you know, and playing. if you look at the Iron Fist I did, I like the fist effect, however he needs more of a key light on the costume and face in general.

DSLR = Digital Single Lens Reflex

I read a little about you cyber shot and it does seem that you can manually adjust the ISO. Mess around with the camera some more or reference the manual.

You can make a reflector from just about anything. Sometimes a white piece of paper is all you need. I don't own a 'proper' reflector, I just improvise.

I'm having trouble finding the iron fist pic you mentioned.
