Sculpey VS Epoxy

Do you guys bake your Sculpey in your oven where you also make your dinner?

Does Epoxy only give you 3 hours to work with the stuff before it hardens up?

It's Apoxie, not Epoxy.

I bake my super sculpey in an electric oven that I use just for that.

Apoxie Sculpt gives you about 3 hours to work with, which I find is well more than plenty.

When using Aves Apoxie, is it necessary to wear latex gloves, or is exposure to skin OK?

I don't use gloves with it at all.... Tommy may tell me I'm wrong... but I don't think you have to wear gloves with it at all...

The ONLY reason to wear gloves, is to keep your hands and tools clean.

I've been using their product exclusively for the last 6 years, and have never had any reactions or illness from not wearing gloves. The main purpose to use gloves, is to keep your fingers and hands clean.

Their safety solvent, is also non-toxic, but it will irritate your skin after a while. A lot of people use water to smooth out Apoxie, and I used to too, but have discovered that water impedes the curing of it, and makes it structurally weak.

Kdawg is probably about as knowledgable on this stuff. The only reason why I responded to the thread is because I've been using both products for a good long time, and am partial to Apoxie Sculpt. I like it because I can sculpt a lot faster, and have finished originals that will never be destroyed from a fall off a shelf, or a cat that wants to play with something.

Thanks guys!

Where is the best place to order it online?

I need a little more advice also. I'm looking for something to fill the seams of some kits I'll be building and I just want to make sure I have the names right.

Am I looking for 2 part Apoxie, or Apoxie Sculpt?

Thanks again!
