What sucks now that I realize is that it's hard to keep the image quality if you have to reduce the image to fit a computer screen!

What happens when you print? Say I print 8.5 x 11. Would the Torch pic get reduced & lose quality?

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I use the drop down menu in the "Choose Files" box and usually select 1024x768 or 1MB file size.

yup, choose the 1MB file size. that should be plenty of space to upload most pics without having it resized.

It kinda sucks though when you upload them at full size & have to reduce them to post on a board. They lose quality.

Using my IrfanView photo viewer, I reduce my full-sized digital photos I take (usually the pics start out around 2.5 to 3 MB or so) down to 25 or 30 percent then sharpen them via IrfanView. That returns the photos to their original crispness before I load them to Photobucket. I reduce them to 25 or 30 percent so they don't become outrageously big and take too long for the forum page to load.

IrfanView is a free program, and I've been using it for years to resize and sharpen photos. I wouldn't use any other program.

I don't think I can because the before shot is about 75 percent bigger than what I posted. Photobucket doesn't, I don't believe, allow images that big, but I may be wrong. But the resized images end up looking just as good as the original-sized images after I sharpen them.
