Yeah, he does some nice work in a variety of styles. He sent me a bunch of pics of finished statues of those STLs and they're all sharp looking. He's also done some Looney Tunes pieces that are spot on.

I decided it's time for 3D printing. With prices going down and quality going up, as well as the availability of good files, it's the right time to get into the game.
Anycubic Photon Mono X resin printer and 2 in 1 wash and cure station. This has a print bed large enough to do 1/4 scale statues without chopping things into too many pieces. Got it set up in the work room and I'll be configuring it this week. I've already downloaded a couple of STL files I'll share in a bit.
This could prove interesting.



Here's the first two 3D projects I've downloaded, FM Batman on Batsignal, 14" tall, and looks to be a good starter project. The Batman on Throne is advertised as 1/4 scale and is way more complex.

Made progress on the head sculpt today, it's ready for eye detailing after I seal it with a gloss coat tomorrow. Started the skull hand by shooting the face with bone white.
Still needs black pastel detailing... probably do it once the head is glued on...it's getting close!

Got most of the skull hand done, just needs sealing and touch up. Did the Tron lines on the lower half of the body, will do the uppers next. After that it's time to detail the eyes and finish up with the speed force bolts.

The black accents on the costume really pop.....also the skull looks terrific!

It's close to wrapping up...just have to detail the eyes and do the speed force bolts. Just in time as my Spider Man kit should arrive tomorrow.
