Yes, I was thinking the same thing, the pose looks similar to Sideshow’s. The upper body anyway.
I didn’t like the gold here either but to XM’s credit he’s had several costumes with a lot more gold in them in the main 616 universe over the years, including his last 2 most recent costumes in Excalibur and X of Swords. I still bet the gold on this statue is just XM doing what they want lol.

The portrait is excellent, but it does appear they went overboard on detail. I just hope they offer two normal hands and that they have removed the ridiculous stitching on his suit.

The MadX custom had gold in it, and it seemed to work well, IMO, so I'm not categorically against it. For some reason randomly gold painted parts of robotic areas doesn't work as well, for me anyway. Still want to see more.

Seriously though, it’s Thanos’ color scheme. I’m not against Apoc in gold but always prefer this:
He sure loves to dangle Jean by her hair. This reminds me of Watchmen and why they didn’t wear capes lol.

I heard on the grapevine that this will be priced at $2099. If so, I may be out. Always wanted a great Apocalypse but not sure it's worth THAT much. Hulk transformation was only 1799!!!
