Most of mine are 1/6 with my top tier favorites in 1/4. 1/3 is reserved for Batman only. Otherwise that 1/3 Thor would be in my office now.

My choice of scale has changed over the past 17 years. I started with McFarlane figures and kept moving up in scale to 1:3. I also had space limitations at first so that’s always a factor. But I would always advise to buy what you love and not buy scale specific.

They're both popular scales (I'm including Bowen at 1/7). Both have a good selection depending on what licenses you're looking for. It sounds like you already have an idea for your display...I say go that route and see what you find. There's a good amount of stuff out there in both. If you're worried about what will get more attention from companies down the line...that's hard to say, but I'd put money on 1/6 and smaller becoming even more popular as the years go by.

Depends what you want to buy. I find having a focus and a 1/4 scale only rule helps keep my display cohesive, although I do have some 1/6 statues and smaller

Yeah, having rules is not a bad thing....but you can bet your bottom dollar something amazing will come out which sits outside your rules, and then you'll have to consider breaking those rules or missing out.

I think 1/4 is a good compromise. And for whatever reason, most of my favorite statues are in 1/4. If 1/3 were more common I would do that, but since I mostly have 1/4 I stick with that. 1/6 just too small imo.

its mostly personal preference. but keep few things in mind, like the display case. easier to get for smaller size like detolf but for bigger one, it can be costly. unless you getting them in parts and building the case your self. another thing is the space. 1/4 will eat up space much quicker. i know many who buy smaller like 1/6 or 1/7 to 1/10 and sprinkle 1/4 and 1/3 around their collection to stand out. finally the cost of having those, bigger one can easily add few more 100 dollars of the same one you can get in smaller version.
in most case, just get whatever you like which will come in various different sizes and be more artistic in displaying. it is rare to see same statue or figure in different sizes. but they do happen, i recently went for 1/3 dante from darkside but they also have same statue in 1/4 size.
