The line up is indeed a huge step backwards from years past. I am only doing the Friday and only because it is an annual tradition with the family and a couple close friends.

Rumor is the primary organizer is focused on the Edmonton event as the venue mgmt has been much more accommodation than the Stampede board.

yeah im not thrilled on the lineup, im not gonna have much stuff to bring to get signed this year...but like you its a tradition with my friends so we'll go anyway, if at least just to buy some stuff their at the stands

Edmonton expo hasn't been too impressive from what I saw, hopefully that doesn't turn into the 'go to' expo for alberta...but if this years lineup is any indication, it could be moving towards that

I agree...no disrespect to any of the celebs/creators going but I'm not very interested.

I still haven't picked up tickets. Just have my eye on Friday. When they sold out Saturday I wasn't too disappointed...if they sell out Friday before I decide, it probably won't be a big deal to me.

my biggest issue is there are next to no comic artists going, and the ones that are going I've never really heard of, where are the big name comic artists that we've had in previous years? (neal adams, mike mignola, matt wagner, steve rude, George perez, adam hughes etc etc) not a single comic artist this year can even come close to those guys

I guess they didn't listen to my suggestion on the comment cards from last year "MORE COMIC ARTISTS!!" lol they should just change the name of the expo to the Calgary tv show and movie expo

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I will be attending the expo and crashing at the Hotel Art. I got the Saturday VIP pass and looking forward to meet a few of the cast. I wish they had a lot more popular artist present this year compare to 2012.
