I enjoyed it. It didn't feel as grand as the star wars usually feel like in the films but a good start never the less. May be my expectations were just too high...

Okay. So fifty years ago would be before episode 1 then.

Found this online.

In terms of Star Wars years, Return of the Jedi is set in 4 ABY (after the Battle of Yavin) and The Force Awakens is set in 34 ABY, which means The Mandalorian takes place around 9 ABY. This is a period of time when the New Republic, the democratic government formed by the Rebel Alliance following their victory over the Empire, has only a tenuous hold on the galaxy — especially its lawless outskirts.

And here is a complete timeline of all major Star Wars events.

https://www.gamesradar.com/star-wars-timeline/

So 50 years prior to The Mandalorian is roughly the same time Anakin was born.

I’d give it a 6/10. Worth following to see where it goes. Seems like a lot of ex-storm troopers at that base. Literally kept coming out of no where and couldn’t hit anything.

I noticed that too. X-men were at the peak then. What a great cartoon. Love the theme song and the design of Jim Lee X-Men.

This is visually my favorite Mandalorian armor yet...I love the looks of it.

One weak link was the soundtrack. It drew me out of the story at times and didn't fit the amazing overall look and visuals...at least IMO. Other than that though I enjoyed this episode plenty...
Boba Fett is in it though it was confirmed. He was in the first episode. You couldn't blink or you would miss him.

Where was it confirmed? All I read was a fan theory article that brightened up a dark area of a room where several people in Mandalorian garb were standing around. One of them had a few red areas on his costume so the author screamed Boba.
