Black Canary PF (2016) by Sideshow Collectibles
A blast from the past.
A piece i was on the fence on, until it sold out and i missed out
I took these out of the box shots using a Samsung S22
Recently there she was, on ebay, in the UK, which means no 20%/30% import fee or high cost shipping.
I placed a bid. No one else bidded. I won. The seller shipped 24hrs delivery UPS
Back in the day from Sideshow Collectibles, price would have looked something like:
$463.75 + P&P $80.00 + 20%/30% Import $139.12
Total: $682.87
I paid:
$449.36 + P&P $18.47 + 0% Import $00.00
Total: $467.83
Total saving: $215.04

Mini review..
The base - Hexagonal brick construction with broken bricks on top. Nothing too special. I knew that before picking up the piece.
Black Canary, bottom to top - Sculpted black boots with folded over section at the top. As some (including myself) complained about at the time,
the lower right leg appear to curve in an un_natural way.
Could it be an illusion, or was it done on purpose, to ensure the right boot connected to the base without having to make the base larger?
Black Canary's feet appear to be on the large side. From heel to toe is almost 6cm
Thighs, good size, well sculpted, signs of muscle definition. The factory did a good job with the black fish nets.
Upper body - looks good. The pose is quite original.
The blue pleather jacket (not sculpted) fits well and looks in perfect shape (my piece is 7 years old). The black painted corset looks good. It looks leathery.
Black Canary's boobs are larger than those to feature on the Sideshow Power Girl from 2021
Hands - Black Canary has long thin fingers. As with her lower right leg, her left index finger also has the ability curve / bend in an un_natural fashion.
It works give her gesture.
Portrait - looks good. Eye's are on point. Skin paint app looks slightly flat compare to some of Sideshow's other pieces i have seen. Hair sculpt looks good.
Hair paint app looks on the flat side, and on the yellow side. A pro painter could probably do wonders.

How does Black Canary (2016) compare to Black Canary (2021) ?
I think i prefer the piece from 2016
In an ideal world i would like hair paint app from the 2021 piece applied to the 2016 piece.
The base on the 2021 pieces looks way more interesting than the base from 2016
I like the fact that the 2021 piece features a sculpted blue jacket (not a pleather jacket).
The pose of 2016 piece wins me over compared to the pose of the 2021 piece.
I have considered selling the 2021 piece, now that i own the 2016 piece. Fact is, i am keeping them both
