Well it was more a botched release, it would have been a huge fail if they wouldn't replace it and just give you a credit to keep it.
Seems to be split of people being pissed on price and those who are jumping on it anyway (cheaper than buying the OG on ebay). So at least being one ES, will give those unhappy about the price a chance to wait for deal with some free shipping.

When a correction or crash comes
WHAT THESE GUYS GOING TO DO???
Right now they are about on the same level of real estate

But when it does come it will be too late. Most likely it will be due to so many leaving the hobby due to being priced out. From what I have seen it’s rare to have someone go through that and then return to a hobby. Once gone they almost always stay gone. Many of us
Have cut way back on purchases and I have already seen some leave and several more talk about leaving. When you look at what tweeterhead is putting out at reasonable prices this kind of makes you shake your head.

XM has been about the same price before and maybe even cheaper like there Doomsday. You just need a contact person to order directly and prices are in SGD. plus there statues are super low ES compared to SSC.
