Good Non-Ikea Furniture?

I'm planning to pick up some Ikea Detolfs later this year, either when I'm in Atlanta for Dragoncon or after my local store in Orlando opens. But in the meantime I'd like to get a good case or two for displaying part of my collection. I'm looking for something affordable and reliable and preferably something that will block dust decently. Any recommendations on specific pieces from stores that might be local-ish to me?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I think what you are looking very well describes the detolfs. But if it's something cheaper, then I don't know.

I know a lot of people here love the detolfs and I am a minority here when I say this, I would never buy one. I've seen them upfront and don't find them very durable and reliable. I have a strong feeling they will fall apart over time because of the materials used to keep the cost down. Most importantly, it gravely limits the number of pieces allowed to display on each shelves and does not accomodate a growing collection and actually takes up more space on the floor when one needs to buy more than three detolfs.

I don't need these since I already have the display cases I need, but if I were to buy one or three, this is what I would get in a hearbeat:

It's nice but I would go for one with a mirrored back.

For that much money you might as well have something custom built.

Borrow money from a pessimist, they don't expect it back.

Not a big fan of mirrored backs myself, can sometimes make a display look cluttered.

Although not in America, I'm getting 2 of these delivered this month in the non-mirrored flavour

I think they're really nice. Something like this would cost twice the price easily in the UK.
