Lladro: Batman - Porcelain Statue

Quote:

Sideshow and Lladro are excited to present the Batman Statue!

Coinciding with his 85th birthday, and in collaboration with Warner Bros-Discovery Global Consumer Products, we are unveiling Batman? x Lladr?, a portrait in porcelain of the legendary superhero in a limited edition of just 500 units.

The mythical caped crusader, created by the US publishers Detective Comics in 1939, is the focus of this handcrafted porcelain creation which recreates Gotham City?s iconic avenger in minute detail.

The Dark Knight is the alter ego of the multimillionaire Bruce Wayne and took his inspiration from bats to create his famous disguise. He wears a cape imitating bat wings, a mask, the bat symbol on his chest and sophisticated gadgets, like his famous utility belt.

Don't miss your chance to add this Batman Statue to your DC Collection today!

Yes, this has a very high price tag, as this is a porcelain statue from a company that's been around for over 70 years.

I would advise giving this older thread a read before going on a rant, everybody, so as not to go over the same points again.

The decision to put that triangle in his crotch is really a disservice to the statue. That and the fact that this is the costume to chose to create. Aside from that I think for a porcelain creation it's well done.

While being comic accurate (the crotch), they didn't bother with the purple inside the cape, and I think they made his wolf heads knee pads way too prominent (they look like car hood ornaments here).

This could be made of platinum and I'd still laugh at the price.

I don't think porcelain and superhero costumes are a good fit. The knee bats just look completely weird since there's no real attachment detail. I could see it working for WW, but bats is just too much top stitching and armour stuff
