They know it would be a goldmine so something tells me they have to hold back...for now.
Maybe I'll put the question up on their FB page next time I'm on.

Yeah, it's odd. I think they recently did ask however what everyone's favorite fatalities were and that was including the ones from MK1, 2 and 3. They had this new fatality statue and they said that fatality-based statues would pop up in the future again...and they didn't exclude classic ones.
But yeah, that's the only thing I've heard of classic MK stuff.

I think the statue is great but I do feel that two 18" MK9 Sub zeros is a bit too much.

I inquired about this on their facebook page.
I must say, I much, much, much prefer the newer costumes instead of the old ones. The old ones to me look like paper bag tailoring. The new ones are so much more lush, lavish, and visually interesting! Makes for a much more lively statue....something that will make my eyes wander.
I do know that many like the older costumes (I dont know why, I just can't understand that), and it would give some more varied appearances to their sculpts.

It's pure nostalgic reasons, at least for me.

Hey that's cool that you inquired about that. ^_^ I wonder what they'll say. haha
I like the older ones because, you know, it's MK1 Sub zero! The classic character! ^_^ It's just really cool. It's like if there had never been any Super Mario statues and now all of sudden they made them with him looking like this:
People are also gonna be excited to have one where he looks...like this!
Well, maybe that's not the best comparison. :P
I get what you're saying though, Loric. The new ones do look very detailed and interesting. Do let us know how Syco responded to your inquiry! ^_^

I'm definitely looking forward to pictures of the painted statue. There will probably be nothing else like this again.
